The Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy brings gymnastics to the community in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London. Our Head Office is registered at Niddry Lodge, next to Kensington Town Hall. Group Classes are run in Kensington (St Philip’s Church, W8 6QH), and Knightsbridge (More House School, SW1X 0AA), serving our clients in Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea. Personal sessions are run at The Kensington Studio, W8 6JP, and in client’s homes.

Improve flexibility
Flexibility is a vital component of physical fitness that enhances a child’s overall gymnastics ability and reduces the risk of injury. At Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics, we focus on stretching and varied movement such as splits, bridges, straddle and pike sit, etc., which help improve flexibility by increasing the range of motion in young joints and muscles. By engaging in gymnastics, children develop both strength and flexibility, laying a strong foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Increase strength
Building strength is crucial for a child’s physical development, as it supports muscle growth, enhances coordination, and boosts confidence. At Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics, we incorporate activities that require lifting, balance, and controlled movements, (like handstands and headstands, as well as various positions on mini bars) which effectively develop both core and overall body strength. Through gymnastics, children not only become stronger but also improve their posture and stability, fostering a robust and agile physique.

Dr Stefan, the director of Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy, and his team share their knowledge and passion for gymnastics with every student. Coach Stefan possesses a wealth of expertise, combining over two decades of coaching experience with advanced academic achievements, including a PhD in Physical Education. Stefan’s doctoral thesis was on the physical fitness on primary school children engaged in gymnastics. Renowned for his contributions to sports science, he holds prestigious qualifications such as the Chartered Activity and Health Practitioner status and QTS status, and has delivered presentations at leading international conferences in the USA, UK and Europe. Stefan’s dedication to excellence has inspired countless young gymnasts to achieve remarkable success.
